Needed for full deployment:

• A group to adopt the system
• Definition of report needs and creation of reports
• Publicity to enlist public observers

5/8/10 - output reports are not public. USCG only - call 228.806.1009 for access. Reports can be made available on the web, either public or password protected, and/or dispatched on arrival by email to the appropriate center for action, sorted by state, county or zip code.

This form is for reports of first-hand observations problems with oil containment booms.

• File a report ONLY for situations you have viewed first-hand. Submit only serious report of problems with oil containment booms. All other reports will be removed promptly.
• Note that many booms will have openings for boat traffic. DO NOT report them as a problem, unless they remain open after oil is present.
  
• We're accepting reports from LA, MS, AL, and FL. We can prepare and deliver custom dynamic reports for any groups responsible for maintaining booms. We would be happy to pass this function to capable groups in other states; we're in Mississippi.

Comments:
I affirm that this is a valid report of a problem condition I have observed first hand. I have checked my inputs and they are accurate.

Data is stored in a SQL database, providing flexible sorting, filtering, and reporting capabilities and straightforward portablility to other hosting systems. Information collection and basic reporting are functional. Several reports have been received and verified.
